I'm compiling a list of classics to read from now until the first few months post-partum. (As mentioned above, the Jane Austen books were my saviour in the early days of Miriam's earthy existance, and also, the Anne of Green Gables series was very enjoyable this past year when we moved, yet again, and Miriam had her toddler/preschooler attitude moments...ahh, the comfort of books!).
A few mamas from my online community suggested these, and I'm excited to get into them:
* Four Great Plays by Henry Ibsen
* Orlando
* The Eyre Affair (series)
* anything by Elizabeth Gaskell (esp. Wives and Daughters)
* George Eliot (Middlemarch, Silas Marner, The Mill on the Floss)
* Mayor of Casterbridge
* Elizabeth Gouge books
* Edith Wharton
* Louisa May Alcott
There, that should last me until the baby is a few weeks old.
Other than that, we may have some big news coming soon, but I don't want to say anything until things are finalized.

Gone with the Wind is surprisingly good (but a little bit long..)
It has to be appropriate for post-partum...something light and not depressing. There'll be enough of that without books! :D
